For those of you who want the peace & tranquility of a countryside location but prefer catered accomodation, we also offer bed & breakfast facilities (continental breakfast) on the first floor of Casa Julian for 25euros per head (30€ July/ August) per night (room cost 50/60 euros).

There are two spacious bedrooms each with French doors opening onto private balconies with glorious views over our garden to fields of sunflowers, Olive Groves and vineyards towards Lake Chiusi glistening in the distance.

One room is fitted out as a 'matrimoniale' bedroom (double bed) and one is fitted with two single beds allowing for flexible accomodation. An additional single bed can be fitted in the 'matrimoniale' bedroom and a baby cot is also available. There is a marble tiled bathroom adjacent to these bedrooms for our guests exclusive use.

Breakfasts are served either in our spacious lounge/ dining room or on our front terrace. We serve a continental breakfast with a selection of fresh baked rolls, croissants, homemade jams and local honey, fresh made yoghurt and fruit.

Picnic lunches are available to order using a selection of local produce and wine. Four course meals can be pre-booked for 20 euros a head including wine- Vegetarian options are also available.

Guests are invited to relax in our garden, use the Bar-b-que area and enjoy our splash pool (15ft diameter, 3ft deep). There are swings and a seesaw for our younger guests and also a range of books, games and information on the area for our guests enjoyment. Children should be accompanyied by an adult at all times.

There are two mountain bikes and two sets of golf clubs for hire if any of our guests wish to enjoy riding along the ridge or around Lake Trasimeno, or to play on one of three good local courses. Horse riding, water sports and paragliding facilities are all within an easy drive and of course there are many wonderful walks.

Our home is 7 kilometers from Chiusi Town which is in Tuscany and 10 kilometers from Castiglione del Lago Town which is in Umbria, so we are ideally placed for sightseeing and close to all the delightful restaurants, cafès, bars which both little Towns have to offer. At Castiglione there is the added attraction of lakeside living, giving guests the option of enjoying both Tuscan & Umbrian culture.

Our area is dedicated to preserving the traditions of good food and wine and there are many gastronomic events, Festas and winetastings throughout the year. I am happy to introduce guests to local Festas, advise on some of the less well known places to visit, local restaurants and the many musical events taking place throughout the summer.

We are also on one of the Umbrian 'stradi del Vini' and I will be pleased to introduce guests to local winegrowers and apiarists.

We have our own Olive grove and our extra virgin oil is available for sale.

In November guests are welcome to join us for the olive harvest - help pick the olives, enjoy a convivial lunch, then take the olives for pressing at the Frantoia before returning with a complimentary bottle of oil for their efforts.

Christmas, New Year and Easter are all celebrated in old fashioned style with a delightful blend of religious and secular festivities throughout the region - so all year round you will be sure of a warm welcome at Casa Julian, I look forward to meeting you

CASTIGLIONE del LAGO

on Lake Trasimeno

For those of you who prefer to be in the centre of things - within walking distance of a Town centre, trains and good restaurants; our friends Yvonne & Eraldo also offer bed & Breakfast accomodation in their third floor apartment in Castiglione del lago for the same price. Picnic lunches and evening meals consisting of local dishes are also available with pre-booking. The accomodation comprises comfortably appointed double or twin rooms adjacent to the bathroom, each with french windows opening onto a roof terrace with spectacular views of the lake and the medieval town of Castiglione (The Lion Fortress).

Castiglione del Lago is situated on the shores of Lake Trasimeno which is in easy walking distance of their apartment. There are sandy beaches, shady gardens, and for evening entertainment delightful restaurants at reasonable prices, a piano bar, an outdoor cinema, pubs and a disco.

Eat out locally at the many good restaurants specialising in the famous Umbrian cuisine or stop for a pizza, a coffee or a homemade ice cream at a lakeside snack bar.
